Isoprene with formula C5H8 is a colorless volatile liquid produced by various plants. Many trees and plants such as poplars, oaks, legumes and eucalyptus emit isoprene into the atmosphere. Isoprene is also known as 2-methyl-1, 3-butadiene which is used as a chemical raw material. It is used as a starting material for a host of synthetic polymers, especially synthetic rubbers. A very small proportion of bio-based isoprene is used in the production of fragrance intermediates and flavors. Isoprene along with other unsaturated compounds is used to manufacture polymeric materials. Isoprene is produced naturally from plants through methyl-erythritol 4-phosphate pathway i.e. MEP pathway in the chloroplasts of trees and plants. Industrially, it is readily available as a byproduct of thermal cracking of oil or naphtha as a side product in the ethylene production.

The report on the global Isoprene Market uses the top-down and bottom-up approaches to define, analyze, and describe the market trends for the next five years. The report also tracks the emerging applications, innovative technologies, and mergers & acquisitions. KEY PREMIUM INDUSTRY INSIGHTS

  • Polymer grade isoprene is used often for polyisoprene application. Polyisoprene has similar properties like natural rubber, such as toughness, abrasion and cold resistance, high tensile strength, high resilience, and good hot tear strength.
  • These make it suitable for tire manufacturing. Polymer-grade isoprene is also used in industries such as medical, pharmaceutical packaging and automotive and is estimated to be the leading isoprene type in the market due to its growing use in diversified industries.
  • Polyisoprene application allegedly accounted for the largest share of the isoprene market, followed by styrene isoprene styrene. Isoprene is primarily used to make polymeric materials, and it is used to produce polyisoprene, which is produced by polymerizing isoprene monomer. In addition, it is used to produce styrene isoprene styrene (SIS), isobutylene-isoprene rubber (IIR), and other specialty chemicals.

On the basis of geography, the global isoprene market is segmented into North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Rest of the World (RoW). Europe is estimated to be the leading market for isoprene, and Russia is estimated to be the largest market for isoprene and is projected to be the fastest-growing market for isoprene in this region during the forecast period. Germany, France, and the UK are other countries allegedly contributing to the growth of the isoprene market in this region. The increasing demand for isoprene from the end-use industries such as tires, non-tires, adhesives, and others is expected to drive the growth of the isoprene market in these countries.
